Photography of the Southwest
A favorite destination for travelers, explorers, and photographers from around the world- the American Southwest. Sedona, Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, El Santuario de Chimayo, Las Cruces, Los Alamos, White Sands, Alamogordo, Roswell, places with mysterious pasts and sketchy legends.
Time stretches wide across the modern states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado from the prehistoric rock petroglyph site at Three Rivers to the Very Large Array Radio Telescope at Socorro. The ancient desert of White Sands hosts austere landscapes while an occasional stealth fighter jet screams overhead. Pueblos, Spanish missions, and Indian reservations remain in isolation at Salinas Pueblo and the Hopi mesas. Anasazi settlements include the Puyé Cliff Dwellings, Chaco Canyon, Aztec Ruins, Bandelier, Wapaki, Mesa Verde, Capitol Reef, and Hovenweep.
The Southwest hosts some of the most incredible rock formations on Earth, like the Grand Canyon and Shiprock, "Tse Bit'a'i", the Rock with Wings, plus the grand dams. It remains a powerful magnet for artists, pilgrims, sun seekers, labyrinth walkers, extreme environmentalists.
